Tamarama (locals call it Glam-arama-the place to be seen).Clovelly, Bronte and Maroubra beaches are famous for their great surf and offers plenty of waves. From Bondi Beach To Wollongong

Bondi Beach Surfing If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, try Cronulla beach. Its 3km of beach breaks that works with all swell directions. There is Cronulla Point and Shark Island for famous right hand breaks. Rock shelves like Shelly and Oak Park that are fantastic with the right swell direction. Cronulla shopping village offers a delightful array of cafes, eateries, surf shops, pub and cinemas.

 

Why not keep travelling through the Royal National Park, for plenty of secret surf breaks and the opportunity to abandon the crowds. Some days you could have the beach to yourself. The sheer beauty of the Royal National Park is magnificent at all times of the year. Check out beaches such as Garie, Era, Marley or Burning Palms. Some of these beaches are a two hour walk through the bush, so if you love adventure and some totally ‘back to nature’ surfing, this is for you.

 

As you venture further down the coast road, Stanwell Park, Coalcliff, Scarborough, Thirroul and Austinmer-all offer tasty little waves along the way. The village like settings of these little towns make a cold beer from the local pub or a hot pie from the local bakery a fitting reward after your surf. The sheer magnificence of the cliff top escarpment, the road that hugs the ocean and the multitude of waves-makes this a worthwhile journey.

 

Sandon Point at Bulli is one of the best point breaks, in Australia as well as an excellent hamburger café on the headland. As you move on to Wollongong city, the famous city beach has plenty of opportunity to pick up some waves and you certainly won’t be disappointed.
